Inspiration in D

For the past five years of my life I have been a regular student at a musical called, Natural Ear School of Music. Over those past years my love for music has grown tremendously. When I first started I was like every other one of the kids there. I loved music, I loved to listen to it and occasionally sing along and I knew a few chords on guitar, but that was just about it. All it was to me when I started was a summer camp; something to do while the parents were at work. This change has been brought on by a number of different things; age, my feelings, etc. however, I know for a fact that there are four main reasons, or people I should say that have had a profound impact and been a huge inspiration to me. These four people are my former band teacher and good friend Will who is now a local musician, my ex whom I’d met through Natural Ear, Justin, who has also become a local Austin Artist, my boss Michele Murphy, a former Austin Artist turned music school director and finally Rachel, my band mate, co-worker, and friend.
First off are the two people who initially inspired and created my enormous love for music; Will and Justin. Will was my mentor and friend, I always looked up to him for an example. Like an older sibling I kind of grew up with him playing guitar since I was eleven or twelve. He is an astoundingly great guitarist and too this day, I am striving to become as skilled as his is with that piece of wood and metal in his hand. I can’t really put it in words how Will truly inspired me; just that his example and our semi-sibling/mentor relationship built up my love for guitar. Justin, however, is a much simpler inspiration to describe. Every moment I had spent with him he was almost always playing guitar, much like Will.
