Internet and People
There are a lot of pros and cons when it comes to the internet. Every day, people use the
internet for many things such as reading, research and entertainment, etc. Not only is the internet
growing its changing people. There are a lot of benefits with today’s technology and it has
improved the way of living. But not a lot people looks at what could happen, or what it is doing
to people. The internet is making people stupid because they are not aware about how much
there is access to child pornography, education distraction and computer viruses.
The internet’s downside is how much access there is to child pornography. Child
pornography continues to grow worldwide. It is easy for sex offenders to connect with other sex
offenders to share their interests, desires, experiences with abusing children and trading images.
The internet give these pedophiles access by using social media, emails and private chat rooms.
Sadly, the online community promotes this behavior. “The data world is a very powerful and
lucrative marketplace with a lot of players involved.” Rick Jackson as quoted in Sullivan 440.
Jackson was a victim of online abuse. The internet helps pedophiles find their next victim. This
is a good reason why people should keep their site private.
The internet is an education distraction. I find myself doing homework and I end up
going on my search bar, looking for recipes to eat for the night. I know that the internet has a lot
of advantages for studies. Once again, this is where social media is one big distraction to

students, maybe even study groups. Where ones studying and finds him/ herself looking at a
