Inside Lacrosse is considered to be the leading lacrosse media in the United States. It is the only lacrosse media company that provides a printed magazine and yearbook, online video, fan forum, ESPN television shows and news website. Robert Carpenter, a Duke Lacrosse and Vestal, NY High School graduate founded Inside Lacrosse in 1996. Knowing that fans cannot be truly invested in a sport if they don’t have access to the news and the personalities surrounding it, Inside Lacrosse was born. His spare bedroom in Towson, Maryland was all about printing and sending weekly score bulletins to lacrosse junkies nationally, in first-class envelopes so nothing was out of date. The first issue was a 16-page black-and-white newspaper consisting mostly of box scores and stats.
As lacrosse continues to grow, with pro teams reaching the west coast and college and high school programs increasing exponentially, Inside Lacrosse continue its mission of enriching the lacrosse community with cutting-edge content that is unmatched in the industry and some of sport’s most dynamic photography.
I had been working as an intern at Inside Lacrosse during first three weeks of January 2009. On first day, I received 20-page list of lacrosse camps which held at last year. Because of I studied Database of Sports before I came to United States, Jeff Dudley, Director of Sales, wanted me to contact them and update camp lists for 2009 on our website. First, I tried to find each camp’s name, date, price, place, and gender from their website then I sent e-mail or called them if there is not enough information for this year. I also helped Sean Burns, who is online manager of Inside Lacrosse for Face-Off College Yearbook. The yearbook is a comprehensive review of the upcoming men’s lacrosse season includes team and player previews for DI, DII, and DIII lacrosse.
