Falling into unhealthy diet
In Hong Kong, it is not hard for us to find a fat boy when we walk around the street. It is mainly resulted from the peoples’ unhealthy diet. To improve peoples’ diet, we need to find out the reasons that lead to peoples’ unhealthy diet.
To fall into an unhealthy diet, a larger supply of junk food or fast food is a must as they are the food without nutrients. Today, the growing number of fast food shop in Hong Kong contributes to peoples’ unhealthy diet. In Hong Kong, fast food shop, like McDonalds and KFC, has already penetrated into every district in Hong Kong. Moreover, some of today’s fast food shops are opened 24 hours a day. Peoples will go to fast food shop more frequently. It leads to unhealthy diet.
Apart from the larger number of the fast food shop, the overflow of advertising of these fast food shops attract people to have an unhealthy diet. Those advertising always show the shiny part of their food, promoting their colorful look and their good taste. They do not mention the nutrition facts of the food, as they know their food is unhealthy. As a result, peoples cannot resist from these delicious food although they know that these food are unhealthy.
Other than that, the heavy workload of people here also encourages unhealthy diet. Everyday, company gives them work more than that they can handle. Therefore, overtime is a usual practice for most of the worker here. That’s mean; they delay their dinner time which is bad to our body. Moreover, heavy workloads also add pressure to the worker. In order to get relax, they love to eat snacks, like chocolates, clips and sweets, those foods with high fats and sugars. Worse still, after they eat so many snacks in the office our, they get almost full in the dinner time. As a result, they skip dinner. It seems that they regard eating snacks as a normal meal. It develops bad eating healthy.
