Jeffrey Dahmer: the Milwaukee Monster

Known as the Milwaukee Monster in his adult years, Jeffrey Lionel Dahmer was born in West Allis, Wisconsin on May 21st, 1960. His parents were Joyce Annette and Lionel Herbet Dahmer, an analytical chemist. According to biography.com the combination of the birth of his younger brother and a surgery at an early age may have led to his increasingly lack of self-confidence. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to Bath, Ohio because of his father’s new job. During his early teenage years, he developed a strange hobby. He would bike around the neighborhood looking for dead animals. Then he would bring them home to dissect them. Around the time he began high school, his parents divorced which led to Jeffrey having psychological stress. In June 1978 after graduating high school, he picked up a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks. Jeffrey took him to his parents’ home and they drank beer and had sex. Then, when Steven tried to leave, Jeffrey killed him with a barbell to the head. Then, he cut the body into smaller manageable pieces, packed them into plastic bags and buried them in a nearby patch of woods. He registered at Ohio State University but then dropped out after only one term due to alcoholism. His father convinced him to join the army, where he was sent to Germany. However, he was discharged two years later because of alcoholism. When he returned to Ohio, he dug up Steven’s remains, crushed them into even smaller pieces and distributed the pieces to a wider area of the woods. Then, in 1982 he moved in with his grandmother in West Allis. He lived there for six years and during this period his character grew stranger. One time, his grandmother found a dressed mannequin in his closet
