The Waffen SS

The Waffen SS was an elite group of soldiers that were feared by everyone. The SS for short was first started by a man by the name of Henrich Himmler as Hitler’s elite bodyguards. The SS started out as a political group, but also had a rival who were the SA. The SA were the other political group for Hitler and Himmler only wanted his to be around so on the night they call “ the night of long knives” the SS murdered all of the SA personnel thus becoming the single political group for Hitler. Being an SS solder consisted of intensive training, obeying its beliefs, and knowing the fighting style of the SS.
The selection of a SS solider was very specific; the solider had to prove his Aryan linage back to the 17th century, and had to serve his life to Hitler. After the SS solider proved his linage there was also another selection they had to go through. The soldier had to be in peak physical shape and they had to be really healthy. The training of the SS soldier was the most intensive out of any German army. The SS also had an academy for their officers as well as enlisted men; it was basically an academy for training war criminals. In the academy they also taught military tactics and maneuvers. During SS training there were accounts of people not being able to take the pressure and hanging themselves because once you were in there was no way of getting out.
The beliefs of the SS were to Hitler and their “master Race.” They were taught that all humans were inferior or subhumans. SS divisions rounded up Jews and put them in death camps where most of them died this was all part of Hitler’s final solution. The Jews were not part of their master race and had to be terminated from existents. The SS believed that they were Hitler was the only person they need and that he was their religion. While in France the SS burned churches and smashed crucifixes.
