The 4 wooden blocks of cylinders, each containing 10 cylinders with knobs, fitting into its
respective hole (sockets) in a given block
Block 1:
Varies in both Height & Diameter
The diameter decreases from 5.5
cm to 1cm
The height decreases from 5.5 cm
to 1cm
Biggest knobbed cylinder is 5.5 cm
in Diameter & height
The smallest is 1 cm in diameter &
height.

Block 2:
Increases in Diameter & decrease
in Height
The diameter increases from 1 cm
to 5.5cm
The height decreases from 5.5 cm
to 1cm
The first knobbed cylinder is 1cm in
diameter and 5.5 cm in height.
The last knobbed cylinder is 5.5 cm
in diameter and 1 cm in height.

Step1:
The teacher starts to introduce the material by inviting the child: "’child's name’ come, I
want to show you something" and she takes him to the shelf “today we are going to work
with the knobbed cylinders, can you please choose a working area and unroll a matt?".

Step2:
The teacher goes to the shelves and says: "today
we will work with the knobbed cylinders" while
pointing to them on the shelf “we have four
blocks in the knobbed cylinders and will start
working with the first block, This is where we keep
them."
