Leadership Change

Change is an ever going process in today’s world and that couldn’t be truer in our school systems. Change management is very important for today’s school administrators as the educational world is constantly changing. This paper discusses some key behaviors that leaders in schools should have in order to help them be more effective when implementing change. Changing people’s behavior is one thing that leader can learn to do better to make changes more effective. Some principals have to deal with that on almost a daily basis when trying to run an entire school. Another key concept is to make sure that people are involved in all the steps along the way so that they can feel some type of empowerment in decision making. There are also many other concepts that will be discussed that will not only help leaders in the school systems but also help anybody improve upon their own leadership skills.

I chose to do this particular topic because I very familiar with school systems and what it is like to be the person in charge of an entire school. Both my father and mother have been working in education for 25 years and they have much experience. My father, though, has been a principal and high school administrator for over 15 years. Also, I think it is very important that there are good leaders running our school systems. Education is very important in our society and the people in these leadership positions need to possess the necessary abilities and thought processes to help the youth grow and learn as best they can.

There are many things that factor into the change of any organization. I believe that it is important for a leader to possess certain behaviors in order to be successful especially when they are dealing with change.
