Leadership Essay

It was two o'clock in the morning and our group of adventurers was lost in the hairiest part of any wooded area in Missouri. "Adventure-Us", a leadership organization, sponsored the endeavor and encouraged us to make our own decisions while they watched us lose ourselves in a maze of foliage. Someone had to step up and assume the role of group leader because the only adult with us was simply observing our quandary. I took it upon myself to become this person. With the aid of others, I took control of the situation, put us on track towards our objective and encouraged group members to reach our goal. Later I was venerated as a leader of my group and a leader of my life.

This was one of few examples of the leadership qualities that I possess that are found in my everyday life. Everyday I take the responsibility to give many friends rides to school; they depend on me and will always know that I'll be in front of their house at 7:10. Once at school, my main objective is to contribute my efforts to succeeding in my rigid schedule of four honors classes. When school ends I take my body and soul to the playing field where I display leadership qualities as a captain on the soccer team and team player on the baseball team. Being a captain of a sports team is a position that serves as a role model for the team and a position that has defined my leadership qualities. There is no better feeling than being looked up to and I gladly accepted the responsibilities of being a role model. When I'm not playing sports I'm at my job where I work as a senior canvaser that is to be seen as an example of the ideal canvaser (a canvaser is a person that goes door to door). This role has carried into aspects of my everyday life and taught me how to deal with being looked up to. Now, as I grow older, I begin to notice that the younger classes see me as their example, giving me more of a push to be the leader I want to be. With this in mind I recently applied...
