One of the leading causes of type 2 diabetes is lack of exercise. In fact, according to most epidemiological studies, people who engage in at least 20 minutes of physical activity per day are 30-50% less likely to develop type 2 diabetes than individuals who lead a sedentary lifestyle. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the cells become resistant to insulin. Insulin allows cells to absorb glucose and the cells need glucose to produce energy for the body. Without Insulin, the cells can not absorb glucose resulting in type 2 diabetes. Exercise can help prevent type 2 diabetes because physical activity uses up glucose as energy and makes your cells more sensitive to insulin. With the clear link between exercise and the development of type 2 diabetes, I decided that it would be important to share this information with members of my community. In order to dplanned to organize an enlightening presentation about how leading a healthy lifestyle can prevent the development of type 2 diabetes.


The main objective of my presentation to explain to people how they can reduce their risk of type 2 diabetes by adopting a healthier lifestyle. In my presentation, I plan to teach them three ways I strived to make the presentation both interesting and informative. I planned to open the presentation with some startling facts about type 2 diabetes and its effects on the body. Type 2 diabetes can lead to bilateral amputations to shortened lifespans. I hope this intriguing information will grasp the attention of my audience and further convey the importance of the rest of my presentation. After providing them with some general background information about type 2 diabetes, I will transition to the part of my presentation that explains measures that can be taken to prevent type 2 diabetes.
