Learning How the World Works

Learning How the World Works

When I was a little girl, I only wanted to go to school because of my science class. I loved putting materials together and learning how the world works. As I grew a bit older, I started to appreciate the value of an education more than ever. Of four grandparents, two parents, five aunts, seven uncles, and thirty-two grandchildren, I will be the first to attend a post secondary institution. Everyone does not have the opportunity to go to college. Some youths don’t know what hopes and dreams are. I was once that kid, until I stepped foot into a classroom. At that moment I was overwhelmed with a feeling I have never felt before; confidence.
An education will allow me to use my knowledge to its fullest potential. Utilizing my education will enable me to see things and go places most people only imagine. My dream of becoming a Biomedical Engineer and discovering less harmful treatments for cancer patients could become a reality. I will be able to prove to my friends and family that yes, education is the answer to future positive endeavors.
The most powerful difference an education would make in my life is a genuine feeling of worth, confidence, pride, and positive acceptance. Many people will never have accomplish the souls of confidence and success. Without such qualities how can humanity survive and prosper in this society? For me the only answer to happiness, fulfillment, survival and prosperity is an education.
