As any industry, hospitality has the interpersonal relationships between leaders and followers which are build on the ethics. One of the first studies in this field was conducted not that long time ago. According to Hollander, E.P. (1995) from the ethical point of view leadership and followership relationship is most likely to be developed with loyalty, trust and time. However, this connection may also be destroying for the both sides in case of the leader’s bad performance. So the implications occur depending on the respect, equity and responsibility.

Furthermore, leader’s moral development has a great influence on the ethical climate and workers attitudes. As Schminke, M., Ambrose, M.L., Neubaum, D.O. (2005) point out- there are five factors that can help to stabilize and sustain positive ethical environment on the workplace. First of all, the leader has to be a role model. Second, he or she should communicate ethical expectations. Third, ethical trainings must be provided to employees. Forth, the workers should be visibly rewarded based on the ethical acts as well as punished based on the unethical acts. Last but not least, leaders should provide the protective mechanisms for the confidentiality of employees’ opinions about the ethical climate in the company.
