Journal #3 Hard work or work ethic is usually developed at a very early age. In many cases a child will attain the habits of those around them (parents, siblings, or friends) which in psychology is considered molding. The child will tend to mold their behavior after those around them. So say for example a child grows up in a one room home with a single parent that is working 3 jobs just to keep a roof over their heads. A child should see just how hard that single parent is working just so that they can survive and this influences the child to want to be a hard worker them self for his future family, his single parent that raised him, and also himself. The benefit of hard work is probably evidenced in education more than anything. Regardless of age, sex, or natural intelligence a person can achieve as much as they want in education through hard work. I also ama strong believer in a person’s acceptance of them self. I believe that until a person accepts them self for who they are and not what other people say they are they will not succeed. If a person is constantly worried about what other people think about them in regards to their appearance, qualifications, potential, character or anything else they will not be able to reach their full potential. Many times in life it will be determined by others how much success a person has in them and if that person accepts this label they will never be a true success. A true success I believe is someone that ignores labels or expectations put upon them and works as hard as they possibly can in which they can be happy with their work. It is vital for a person to accept them self for who they are and know that they can accomplish what they want in life through hard work regardless of what other people say.
