Looking Towards the Future
During the course of each of our lives we all have goals in which we want to achieve. In this report first I will identify and describe a personal goal, a professional goal, and an academic goal. Next I will apply the SMART goal process, explain each component of the SMART goal process, and create an accountability plan for meeting each of my goals while discussing how I will overcome obstacles. Finally I will predict success in achieving my goals based on my past positive experiences, my individual personality, and my major field of study.
The first goal that I will identify and describe will be my personal goal. The personal goal that I have set for myself is to lose twenty pounds in three months. I want to achieve this goal to become healthier and live a longer, fuller life. I will achieve this goal by eating healthier meals and exercising 30 minutes a day five days a week.
I applied each of the SMART goal components (http://readsh101.com/ashfordu.html?id=ec8bd17d) as I was setting my personal goal. My specific goal is to lose twenty pounds in three months. The measurable goal is twenty pounds. This is a realistic goal for me because I have achieved it previously. I believe I will be able to achieve this goal with hard work and commitment. I have set a time bound on my goal which is three months.
My accountability plan for this goal is to weigh myself every two weeks. If I am not losing any weight I will adjust my calorie intake and exercise time. I will discuss my goal with my family, friends, and coworkers so that they may suggest ideas that will help me in reaching my goal. I will motivate myself and think positive towards reaching my goal.
