Love Your Enemies

Over the past several years I've had a lot of persecution, backbiting, and slandering taking place toward me and because I had gotten my feelings hurt so many times I found myself in a position of strife and unforgiveness. That helped set me into a position where I thought I had to lash back out and explain and defend myself to others...to tell my side of the story, but after much prayer God began to reveal to me why certain things were the way they were and how to handle it the right way...his way. So here's a little friendly advice...

As believers we need to try to remember when people decide to set themselves against us that it's not really the "person" that's against us, but the demonic forces that the person is letting operate through them through various open doors such as jealousy and insecurity. The book of Ephesians tells us, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Mark 4:17 informs us that affliction and persecution arises for the sake of the word. Take a close look at those set against you and you'll find that they are either spiritually weak or dead. That's why Jesus told us, "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" Through your prayer the Holy Ghost can help them get free from this, but a lot of times instead of doing this we tend to get our feelings hurt and let our emotions get the best of us and then we wind up getting in the "flesh" by trying to defend and justify ourselves, but God said that he's our justifier and that he will plead our cause and defend us. 2 Timothy chapter 2 says, "And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to...
