Houser 1 Lucille Ball Greatness is an awesome quality to find in someone. There’s so many ways to define the word ‘great’. Lucille Ball is a good form of greatness because she is an outstanding comedian and opens up the eyes of others. Lucille is someone who can stand strong through the most excruciating times and keep her head high, who can keep trying and become greatly successful one day, and also is unimaginably hard-working and does not give up no matter what. Little Ricky on I “Love Lucy”, was born in 1953. After twenty years of being married, Lucy and Desi divorce was official March 3rd, 1960. After the divorce, Lucy bought Desi’s half of Dusilu and became the first woman in history to head a Hollywood studio. In 1967, Lucy decides to sell Desilu to Paramount/Gulf Western for $17 million. Through all her fame and fortune, Lucille died in 1989 at the age of 78. Lucille Ball is the type of person who tries to never give up, even though she’s had some very hard times. When her father died of typhoid fever after moving to Butte must have been pretty rough. The family must have suffered a lot from the loss of a great father and husband. When Lucy was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (TV Guide), she had to live back with her mother for about three years, the ages of 17 to 20 without a job. When Lucy met Desi, she trusted him enough to marry him. While married, Dei always was busy or out of the country, so Lucille filed for divorce. Before the divorce became official, they managed to fix their problems and continue their marriage. But ten years later, things weren’t able to be fixed. They got a divorce and Desi turned to alcohol (Suite 101), while Lucy was busy trying to keep her career going. Lucy tied so hard in life, but after she got open heart surgery she passed away, even though she became very successful.
