Maine Attraction

Joey Adam 9/23/08 English 101 The Maine Attraction I was elated when I discovered that I have alot of family living in Maine. I was even more fortunate to find out that they live right in the middle of all the hot spots. My grandparents have a house in Brooksville and because they do not stay there in the spring, they have allowed us to stay in their ten bedroom house which overlooksthe gorgeous Bagaduce River. They have a spacious motorboatthat you can take out on the river, where you will find many islands perfect for scavenging caves and taking a dip in the water. If you are lucky, you may even be able to swim with some seals that occasionally come up to say hello. Only two minutes down the road live my Aunt Maryland and Uncle Gig. They own a 500 acre blueberry field with a lake, island, and fresh water springs. Wherever you walk in the yard you can reach down and pull up a handful of delicious, mouthwatering blueberries. Located throughout the field are several paths that are perfect for their five all terrain vehicles. This is an annual tradition and it is one of the most fun times I have ever had. Maine, despite being a somewhat unpopular getaway siteis one of the most fabulous vacation spots in the nation. Its beaches, mountains, cruises, scenery, and activities would make you think that you were in a fairytale wonderland. All that it takes is a bus ride north and a little spending money and you will be in for the week of your life. And because shelter is already taken care of, it should be a cheap trip too. So when you are thinking about Spring break 2009, don’t think Florida or Hawaii or any other conventional place – think of the Maine attraction.
