Making Additions to Our House

It was one sunny, Sunday afternoon after dinner that my mom decided she wanted to add on to our house. She had been considering it for some time and now she was ready to move ahead with her plans. At the time, my mom didn’t really know what she wanted to add on. After talking it over with my dad and the rest of the family, my parents decided to add a bedroom, a full bathroom, and a sunroom. Everyone in the house was excited because we were all anxious to see the outcome of my parent’s plans.

My dad is a hard worker and the one thing he prides himself on is being conservative when it comes to money and expenses. After checking the accounts and calculating our monthly expenses, my dad concluded that adding on would not be a problem. He was also happy that my mom had decided to save in advance for this project.

The hired help also uses it to aid in their work. Once the blueprint was completed, my parent’s had to get a building permit from the city of Columbus. This permit gave my parents permission to build or add on to our house. Once we got the building permit, my parents had to hire people to help with certain tasks. My dad is a well-known person in our community, so finding people to help was not a problem....
