A manager’s accomplishment in becoming one of the best managers ever would depend on understanding the managerial duties and responsibilities and would also ensure the key managerial activities are done well and done right. It is domineering for the manager to have an in depth understanding of the managerial duties and responsibilities in the range of the manager Job. Given the fact that every organizations viewpoint is not the same, the environment and kind of individuals are not the equivalent, it is even more thought-provoking to recognize those key common happenings of a manager’s role that hold trustworthy in every organization. In this paper I will describe the role of a manager in a typical organization, propose and discuss three traits an individual should possess to be an effective manager, and describe how these traits fit the four functions of management.
A manager's main role is to achieve effective utilization of resources in an organization. He/she achieves so through coordinated human efforts. A manager has a very important role to play in achieving organizational objectives. They are responsible for aligning the individual's objectives with the organizational objectives. This is very essential for achieving long-term organizational success. The manager is also the one who communicates organizational vision to the employees of the organization. They should ensure that there is effective communication flow in an organization and that there should be no misinterpretations taking place.
The manager has a crucial role to play in decision making process in an organization. They have to decide how to bring and communicate organizational changes. The manager plays a major role in setting organizational goals. They have to be in close contact with the employees of the organization, should understand them and motivate them, and should encourage them so that they can perform...
