The Semi Engine
The US is becoming a service/creative economy. To help improve our manufacturing enterprises one needs to think of activities that people continually use on a daily basis. Consisting of survival needs; food, shelter, clothes, jobs, and transportation. Transportation is an important aspect of day to day operations utilized by all social classes. Now a day the price of fuel has risen to almost $4.00/gallon for regular gasoline. Most people are gearing towards a more fuel efficient vehicle. A few years ago the invention of the multi-displacement system surfaced, giving SUV’s more fuel efficient means. Up to date there is no known multi-displacement system developed for sedans and compact cars using 4 and 6 cylinder engines. Why not make the good, great. The multi-displacement system is used to shut off unused cylinders while cruising, producing a lower mile per gallon ratio. Using this system for sedans and small compact cars will change the already good mile per gallon ratio to an economical mile per gallon.
The “Semi” engine (multi-displacement system for sedans and small compact cars) would be considered a part of the automotive manufacturing industry. This can create more jobs all across the US. The “Semi” would only be used in American made cars thus increasing our own economy and revenue. Introducing a multidisciplinary program will need a variety of departments to help to produce the “Semi”. There would need to be a design team as well as a manufacturing and assembly team. The design team would be in charge of designing and testing, as well as evaluating the performance. The manufacturing and assembly teams would be responsible for producing mass amounts of engines for all makes and models of American made sedans and compact cars. The “Semi” will produce more jobs among the ones already existing due to it being a new concept.
