Marketing Mix:

Product Life Cycle

Abstract

As an IT consultant firm, an added benefit that we can provide our clients is the reduction of recovery time involved in disaster recovery (DR) for our clients after a disaster or data loss. We can tailor the strategy or plan to be affordable and to be the best-fit for the client. By aligning ourselves with a major software vendor, in particular Symantec, we will benefit from the support, knowledge and expertise of the Symantec team, which will in turn benefit our clients. The sheer number of natural disasters or data loss due to hardware failure or security breaches, has the potential to bring devastating results to small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) that do not have a complete DR plan. According to a 2008 survey by Rubicon Consulting, Inc., half of SMBs have lost important business data, 63% because of hardware failure and 13% because of fire or other disasters (Rubicon Consulting, 2008, p. 16). Using a well developed marketing mix of product, place, promotion and price over the product life cycle, we can strengthen our business and maintain a competitive edge.
