Mastering the skill of Farming
In the XVlll Hundreds people relied on the land to provide food. This was done by having a garden on the farm and growing everything from tomatoes, corn, green beans and anything else they may need to get the proper balance of nutrition. They also raised animals so that, they could have meat to provide protein. The animals was raised from infants so that, they could keep the younger ones for breeding and send the older stock to be possessed for eating.

There where no stores or refrigerators back then everything these people received they worked for on a daily basis. Their beverages came from cows that produced milk, and creeks that produced water. The milk was used for drinking and cooking and the water was used for their live stock, washing cloths, bathing, and drinking so that, they would stay hydrated.

The farmers worked their lands in the same way we go to work everyday. Not only did the products the farmers produce feed the people that lived on the farm they where also used to provide other resources. The farmers would sell or trade their product at local markets for other materials or merchandise that might be needed on the farm. Some of the products the farmers received from the market would be used to keep their machinery running properly for the next harvest season.

When we stand still and watch society today everyone prefers the one stop shops like Wal-Mart, Sams-Club, and Myer’s grocery stores. We are just too fast-paced to have time to grow our own gardens or take care of a Farm. Most people in this century would rather bye a tomato from a grocery store that has been cleaned and sprayed with pesticides rather than growing their own gardens.
