Everybody has different skills, some are born with it, some learn it, and even have skills they don’t know about. Every body always want new skills, it’s just how our society is today. The world we live in today is highly competitive for jobs and opportunities that we all need to improve our skills. However, one of the things that we as humans have been trying to achieve is world piece. Which brings me to the point, I think one of the skills that people should have is the ability to understand other peoples and cultural differences. If people could understand and view other people just as they view themselves the world would be a better place. In the society we live in today there are many races and ethnicities and still 140 years after slavery was abolished and 40 years after discrimination became illegal it is still was issue that worries minorities in this country. This nation was built on the idea of free people and free choices; however we still face that problem. I wish people could have the skill where they don’t judge people on race or ethnic group. Moreover, not just in our own country but through out the world that problem still exists. If Adolf Hitler would have been able to view the Jewish faith just as he viewed the rest of the German population it would have saved a lot lives. Unfortunately humans for the most part don’t like to interact with other race which is what starts problems. For me everybody should have the skill to look past color, race, ethnicity, and cultural background and realize that we are all humans on the inside. With this skill people would be able to see past cultural differences. Yes, for the most part our nation has been able to move forward towards race equality but it still is a big issue. With a skill to be able to see other as they see themselves people would feel safer around those of a different race.
