Business is offering franchising to individuals that want to purchase products and sell them to the public. From Dictionary of American History, “In 1954 McDonald’s start it first franchise by Ray A. Kroc, which open in Des Plaines, Illinois” (McDonald’s, 2003). Dictionary of American History said that, “In 2001 McDonald’s had thirty thousand stores with one hundred and twenty-one countries servicing forty-six million customers each day” (McDonald’s, 2003). “In franchising, the company sells limited rights to use its brand name to franchisees in return for a lump sum payment and a share of the franchisee’s profits” (Bateman & Snell, 2009, 231). People have to make payment for products and equipments that they purchase from the franchise company. “Thus, when McDonald’s enters into a franchising agreement with an overseas company, it expects the franchisee to run its restaurants in a manner identical to that used under the McDonald’s name elsewhere in the world” (Bateman & Snell, 2009, 231). Companies offer franchising to people so they can establish business local or global. The franchise company receives profit from individual for using the name of franchise business. McDonald’s human resources are worldwide because McDonald’s have franchise local or global. Technology for McDonald’s is producing efficient way to make products so customers will want to purchase products and keep coming back.
