As many of you may have already heard, InterClean is in the process of merging with EnviroTech. This could be a difficult transition for many of our employees, especially our sales teams, and many of you as well; however, this merger can also offer new opportunities for learning new skills and expanding competency levels throughout the organization. I ask that we all work together and offer our support to employees during this transition and make sure we are acting in a professional manner. I have drafted this memo to outline and explain how a manager’s behavior can impact employee productivity, the types of management actions that are in line with employment laws and those which are not, and the best practices for working within a diverse work environment.
Our behavior will also create an environment where greater productivity benefits the organization and our employees. I have listed ways the management team can help with this process: 1) make sure adequate training and education is provided within your teams. 2) make sure we are effectively communicating with our employees. 3) provide a good safe working environment 4) provide regular and consistent feedback to employees 5) encourage employees to use resources available to perform job task, i.e. Job aids, training manuals. 6) express to employees what you expect of them and what they can expect from you, and 7) reward employees for performing jobs effectively. Taking some if not all the steps listed will show our employees that remaining productive during the transition is the most positive course of action.
Our behaviors also play a role in how employees perceive and trust what we do. Trust can play a major factor in employees continuing to perform at or above level in the work environment.
