Memories in the Dominican Republic
My parents are from a beautiful island called the Dominican Republic. The first time I visited there I was about six months old, I don’t remember it at all but that’s what my mother has told me. We used to visit at least every six months because my father still lived there but me and my mother lived in Queens, New York at the time. Dominican Republic is an incredible place to go, whether it’s for vacation or just to visit family. I mostly go to visit family. I have many memories of the Dominican Republic, most of them good, and just a few of them bad.

It was a great occasion to get all the family together. My grandmother’s dress was so beautiful and my grandfather had the biggest smile, you could just tell he was really happy to have spent 50 years married to my grandmother.
Every year my family gets together in the Dominican Republic. We always do it in the summer because all of my cousins have summer vacations and we always want to stay there for two months. We usually don’t see each other because most of my cousins live in New York and I live in Florida. When we do see each other, it’s a great feeling; we look forward to the summer just so we can hang out and have fun together. I have about 25 cousins on my mother’s side and 8 uncles, it’s a lot of people to fit in one house but we still manage to fit. When we’re in the Dominican Republic we always go to the rivers and the beaches. The beaches and rivers are so beautiful...
