In the case study number one, Jennifer’s stresses can be caused by environmental, household, work, time pressured, as well as future security hassles. Jennifer seems to being stressed over the fact that she has had so many miscarriages, and her in-laws are in high hopes that she can still succeed in becoming pregnant again. She also is experiencing stress from the death of her mother and the illness of her father. This can leave a huge stress factor in anyone’s life. The other things could because stress was the move and the commute she has to do for work every day. She might have traffic issues, or even the noise on the drive can be stressful. With this kind of stress body aches, headaches, and indigestions can all be related. These stresses can cause Jennifer to have problems focusing on work. It can also cause self doubt in Jennifer’s mind. With herself doubt she can start to stress even more by thinking she is failing.
The stress of not being able to be pregnant is causing Jennifer to believe she does not have the mothering capabilities; this can make any woman feel down, Jennifer feels that she is not only letting herself and husband down but her family as well. With the death of her mother and the illness of her father she brought down emotionally, it is hard to lose a parent but to have one fall ill shortly after is tough. The fact that she has to make a decision to put her father in a skilled nursing facility against his will, it also tough on anyone. By her making a decision that would upset her father might make her feel down and she might end up questioning was it the right decision. Having self doubt can be a major blow to the self esteem. Being that she is very dependable at her job and when she started to not keep up, her self confidence of being on top of things has dropped, making her believe that she is failing.
