Monsanto Good vs Evil

Growing without Soil

How can one company have a thumb over the whole worlds food supply and we the people have no control? I first started looking into backyard farming after I watched a video on a company called Monsanto, which really got me thinking about where and how are foods are produced. Now I'm not a “health nut” by any means nor am I a conspiracy theorist but it really opened my eyes, to see what is in are foods, why is it there and who put it there and why are they getting rich while the small local farmers are being shut down. After seeing this I started looking into the small time backyard farming or backyard homesteading and I came to find about hydroponics, or soil-less gardening.

But they are best known to be the marker of the product Roundup. What is a genetically engineered? Genetically modified organism (GMO) or genetically engineered organism (GEO) is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering practices. Now why is this so bad? Well among the most recognized genetically modified products like corn, soy and wheat. These seeded are laced with a herbicide (Roundup). These seed are called Roundup Ready. The purpose of Roundup which the basic gardener would know, is to destroy weeds that threaten crops. Seeds that are “Roundup Ready” can be sprayed with Roundup without killing the plant. The plants are kept weed-free. Sounds good right? But in reality the plants are being covered in a toxic herbicide. This herbicide has been known, proven and documented to cause genetic damage to both animals and human tissues. Monsanto...
