Nadias Diary

Dear Diary

I hate it in this dingy little hole of a town, our flat is right near the railway station; the noise is just unbearable. John is very nervous about his first day at the new school and wants to make a good impression. I do not like the idea of him being a school master, it sounds SO BORING.

Dear Diary

John is home from his first day at Chantrey. He was pleased because the headmaster invited John and me to dinner sometime. I think that's more rude than polite and that he was just making conversation, the fact was he didn't say a date or time. The trains are terrible. At least John can get away from them while he is mastering at Chantrey, his ‘dream' career as a school master. After work he only had to bear fifteen minutes of the trains before deciding that we should all go out.

Dear Diary

I feel as if John is not telling me everything that is that is happening at school. He would rather go to the local boozer, rather than coming home and telling me he is going out so I don't go wasting my time cooking him a meal that goes cold. Now he expects me to go to the stupid chapel before going to the headmasters for dinner and wants me to be happy about it. He came home reeking of beer; I am so annoyed at him.

Dear Diary

I'm surprised that John did not go out for a drink with Cary. I want to meet him if he's good friends John he must be interesting. I have got to go to chapel today (how BORING)… One of the boys in the choir, I think his name was Clostermoth or something. He looked very angelic. The dinner was so boring we went the only people there, apart from the Winstanleys, and they made the dinner so much worse. Mr Winstanley was the maths teacher all he talks about is the school, and they haven't been into town in five years. How boring are they?

Dear Diary

Finally got a job to get away from all the trains. It's an usherette at the local Cinema, something...
