First Job Nightmare
Spring of 2011 is extremely suspenseful for everyone that is a senior at horizon high school. It was the winding down of high school. I’m 18 and ready to move on with my life. I am so excited for summer to start and just want school to end already. Walking to my college career class, my friend Ryan was standing near the door. Ryan’s hands shot up as soon as he saw me “Hey Jake come here” he shouted with his hands waving in the air. I approached him while he eagerly declared “I just got employed as a dish washer at a really nice restaurant!” “That’s cool” I said, he smiled as he replied “It is not a very good job, I regret it so much but I need the money and desperate” he said jokingly. I knew that right away that I would never want to even think about working as a dishwasher, cleaning dishes and cleaning messes in the kitchen, what a dumb and hard job. I sat down and started to think about what I was going to do in the summer, sitting and thinking one thought kept popping into my mind, working. I needed to find a job and do it quick. As I sat and thought about it I could over hear a girl saying “everyone’s getting a job now because when summer comes every single teenager will be looking for one” This was totally true, I knew if I didn’t find a job now I would never find one during the summer. I walked over and right away started to think about what jobs I could do and how much money I could make. This was going to be my first time ever doing this so I got kind of nervous as I looked down at my hand that was shaking. I shot straight up from sitting as a thought came to mind. I remembered how a friend of mine named Dan had told me earlier in the year that his work was employing and desperately needed people.
Immediately I went on a search for Dan, as I searched around the most of the school where I would assume Dan to be at. The court yard was empty, the cafeteria was closed, and the gym was under construction. I knew that since those 3 key...
