"Natural Crime" and "Legal Crime"
The way crime sentencing is handled in today’s society is far beyond the way it was handled in the biblical days. This paper will compare and contrasts, Natural Crime (Biblical) and Legal Crime (today’s crime), both have great similarities and far reaching differences. The word natural means, of or dealing with nature. (Webster’s New Dictionary 4th Edition). The word legal means, of or based upon law. (Webster’s New Dictionary 4th Edition). Crime a word with a stand out meaning, boldly speaks for itself, meaning an act in violation of a law.
Natural Crime compared to legal crime in the biblical days reached an astonishing level of change. The first murder ever noted to man was committed by Cain the son of Adam and Eve. As noted in the bible, Cain and his brother Abel set out one day to offer their sacrifices to God. Cain only offered a small portion of what he grew to God while Abel offered God fat portions from some of the best of his flock. God favored Abel’s offerings but did not take Cain’s, because of this Cain became very angry. One day after this occurred Cain suggested to his brother that he would like to meet him in a nearby field. While Cain and his brother were alone in the field Cain killed Abel, committing the first murder that was ever noted in time. Because he committed a murder God exiled him into a distant land. In this time and era
God is the one who said whether a man lives or dies. God didn’t kill Cain he let him wonder into the wilderness as a form of punishment. This form of punishment was harsh to Cain, causing him to be cast out from family and friends, and maybe killed by strangers who hear of his crime.
