Doing business today is much more different than decades ago and there are some differences which are worrying. Companies competing in the current environment should improve their services by assessing their processes. This will enable create necessary environment for their businesses. For this assignment I have chosen Classic Cleaners inventory system which is used by at the company at the moment. The company introduced strategy which is aimed at improving the company’s performance in terms of service and marketing.
This strategy is aimed at improving employee performance and ensuing that the company benefits from the new strategy that has been implemented. The strategy requires employees to be more responsible in their actions in order to improve the learning process in the organizations. They have also embraced the corporation in which the production of cleaning using the just in time supply concept. To improve on this system, the company requires to adapt due strategies by changing the system the way it operates.
The Process
The first assignment was to assess what opportunity existed for inventory loss reduction and investigate how inventory could be better without curtailing service. The team compared inventory levels to those of similar companies and found out that more than $ 25,000 in inventory loss was possible.
The scientific inventory planning computer simulation model showed the top management a quantum opportunity existed. The size of the opportunity confirmed the task force next investigated how to achieve the reduction. First it examined in depth the current production planning and inventory control operation and through interviews the task force identified two key analytic talks that would lead to inventory reduction.
