New technology implementation is becoming an important step to businesses that want to keep on the edge of advancements. This paper will use personal experience and gathered information to explain how new technology can be implemented or introduced to an organization. The paper will also explain how support strategies, project, implementation, and training plans information will be shared among technical and non-technical staff. The key to technology implementation is to incorporate all areas of the business and be able to change the mindset of employees to accept the new technology. In order to have employee’s buy into the new technology the manager will effectively need to communicate these changes before and during the implementation stage.
Communication is important to any organization trying to incorporate changes within. As soon as an organization determines that they would like to incorporate new technology the communication should start. It will be important to communicate these changes with all staff and even individuals who will not use the new technology. Managers and human resource personnel must be able to reach all technical and non-technical employees and some ways are by using bulletin boards, emails, company newsletters, and department meetings. The idea behind communicating the changes is so that employees do not hear rumors about a change and bash the ideas before he or she even knows anything about the change. Manager’s can combat this by setting time frames between the first initial communication of a change coming and when the first employee meeting will take place. Managers should use communication as a tool to change and listen to employees perspectives.
