Nonconformity

I really enjoyed every minute of this assignment. I learned a lot about myself and everyone around me. It was very worthwhile. I decided to go to downtown Belleville, IL to do the assignment with the help of my little brother Johnny. The nonconforming act that I decided on was to sit in the middle of the sidewalk in front of a empty bench.
Me and Johnny sat in the middle of the sidewalk for over Two hours and had a hundred people walk by. The thing that surprised me the most was out of a hundred people not one person said anything mean to us or asked us to get out of the middle of the sidewalk. The first people that walked by me and Johnny were two young gentlemen and one of the guys stopped and told Johnny that he needs to pay attention to me and everything I do because I am very smart and I know what I am doing in Life! I thought that was really “sensational” that a stranger would say that to us. I thanked him for what he said, as he was walking away. That was by far the best reaction we got out of everyone and it was a great start to the project. It made me feel like it was the best nonconforming act I could of came up with.
Out of all the men and women, a lot of the men were the ones that made faces when they had to walk around us. Except for the women with kids in strollers were not very happy at all that they had to walk around us. As for all the other women they were cool with it. A lot of the women would just smile and walk on. Not one person asked us what we were doing either. Its either people didn’t care that we were sitting in the middle of the sidewalk or they were too scared to say anything or ask us to...
