Introduction: See appendix 1
When looking to locate a business, an owner has to factor in a lot of different things that may affect where a business should be placed. The six factors are the most important for the business I have chosen are: accessibility; the number of churches in the area; number of schools in the area; footfall; cost of renting and cost of houses. These are all important factors for the business I have chosen and in my analysis I will fully explain why they are important for the business and what of my three locations are the best for that factor.
The business that I have chosen is Danyal’s fish and chip shop that is located on School Road in Hall Green. It not only sells fish and chips but also kebabs and all of the meat it uses is halal. The two other locations that I have chosen are Alcester Road in Kings Heath and the Stratford Road in Shirley.
Accessibility: See Appendix 2, 3, 4 and 5

Things that can affect the accessibility of a shop is if it has parking spaces nearby, how many other shops are in the area and how many busses run through the area. Danyal’s is currently placed on School Road which does not have many parking spaces available close by, however does have one car park nearby. It also has some bus routes in the area but many of them are not main bus routes and none of them actually travel down School Road. Because of this Danyal’s is fairly accessible but could be improved if there were more parking spaces and main bus routes.
This criterion is met at one of my suggested locations, the Stratford Road in Shirley. This is...
