There is still the typical Bond going audience for Casino Royal, who would be typically mostly male with a wide age range of 12-40 year olds who are Bond and action film fanatics. The age restriction has been lowered on Casino Royal to target this younger cinema goer’s audience. However Casino Royal has created another target audience with the casting of Daniel Craig and the change in the role of women within the film. The new audience Casino Royal appeals to be young women around the 16-35 year old range, this is due to the casting of Craig and the frequent medium close up of his body. This adds a never before seen element to the Bond Genre as a male is seen as a sex symbol. To add to this Vesper Lynn is another factor why there is a newly developed women audience, this is a result of the role she plays with Casino Royal. In contrast to previous bond film, for example Dr No where the female character is called Honey Rider, vesper is more of a matriarch and is just as intelligent as Bond.

The popularity of the James bond Genre and franchise and the character himself is the major reason why the audience is attracted to Casino Royal. Due to the previous 21 films the James Bond franchise and fans had already been built up and as a result of this the audience was attracted to see Casino Royal. Many men aspire to be James Bond and for this reason it will attract the typical audience to see James’ new adventure. Martin Campbell also had an influence in attracting the Audience to Casino Royal. Many Bond fans believe Goldeneye, directed by Campbell was one of the best Bond films. Campbell return to directing a bond film would please the majority and further make the audience go and see his vision of a Bond film yet again.
