Opening of a Story—the Beach:

Blue, blue, blue was all I could see. The endless open sky stretched across the horizon. Countless number of times, had I lost myself to this sky. Whirls of cotton clouds spun against the sapphire sky. I was returning home, finally after five years of longing. Ah! How many precious memories were locked up in ‘Salt marsh’. I took a deep breath.
The familiar fragrance of salt blow over me. I looked below. Golden shafts of sunshine sparkled on the serene blue waters of the sea. Tiny waves bounced rhythmically to the tunes of the saline breeze. The cool waters washed over my feet, Bring back the memories of the gentle caresses of dear grandma. Large crescent shaped waves adorned with milky foam crowns dashed against the shore, threatening to engulf the whole beach; but only slither back into the sea – often leaving behind treasures buried under the freshly soaked sand. I remembered how upset I would get, each time the waves would mercilessly wash away lumps of sand I called ‘castles’. I would turn crimson when grandpa laughed mildly at my childish complaints.
I slipped my hand into my pocket and produced a milky white shell, delicately coiled with pink tinted edges. I was Surprised to see its’ architect was a mere worm – soft pink flesh smeared with sticky slime. The shell was grandpa’s present to me and I had treasured it ever since.
Across the shore lay carpets of straw colored grains sprinkled with cinnamon crystals that glittered in the sun. Partially buried shells peeped out. Yesterdays castled were now weathered into mounds of clay. I scooped a handful of sand, watching the golden chips slip through my fingers and raining over my feet. My feet felt the warmth of the baked sands; I wanted to lie down here forever. But, home awaited. I hurried homewards
