From the very beginning, Palin was always talking and speculating about Sen. Obama’ s views on not having Sen. Clinton, instead on Joe Biden on the VP ticket. The liberal view of this situation is that the McCain-Palin campaign are just trying to lure women voters, who backed Clinton in the Democratic primaries. In the recent interviews that were conducted by ABC anchor, Charles Gibson, she was obviously holding something back and appeared defensive to certain questions asked, such as the $3.2 million for researching the genetics of harbor seals–the kind of spending on pet projects that McCain has committed to eliminating. And now, it appears that she is taking his side on something that McCain opposes. It’s that kinda of contradicting. Do we really want someone who changes her decisions every so often just to get by in the people’s eye? I don’t think so, I want my VP to be ready to lead the world if the president is not capable at the time.
Palin and McCain’s first encounter was at the National Governors Association meeting in Washington. They exchanged small talk and contact information. McCain told one of his fellow advisors that, “ She was an impressive woman. I liked her.” John McCain was completely smitten by Palin’s [supposedly] charm. During the last two months of VP selection, Palin was picked. “He looked at her like a kindred spirit,” said one close advisor, who declined to be identified in order to speak more freely. “Someone who wasn’t afraid to take tough decisions.” Please, save it for your one-liner. Joe Biden on the other hand is not married to Bill Clinton; he has a strong following among white blue-collar voters, which Obama desperately needs; above all, he is said to have the experience which Obama lacks - he has been a Senator for 36 years and is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
