Management Planning and Ethics
Planning is one of the most important functions of management. Planning makes a company look ahead and figure out what it's end goals are, and how they can best reach those goals. If a company can look ahead and determine where it wants to end up, whether it be at the end of a business year or at the end of a month, and make a strategic plan in order to reach that goal; then the possibility of reaching that goal is much higher then if a plan was not in place. Ethics, legalities and social responsibilities for corporations, and how well the management plans strategies within each of these, plays an immense role how well goals are met for a corporation. Each of these areas have different processes within them in order to help the company function and run smoothly. If a company can plan and make strategies for the different processes then hopefully, the end goals will be met. The strategies to enhance, utilize and protect in each of these areas takes a vast amount of planning so that the company can have an outcome that they desire.
There are many legal issues that surround and encompass the processes of a company. With the threat of being sued in the world today, or the threat of outside vendors not paying their bills because the proper steps were not taken; this can truly effect or determine how the planning and execution of processes happen. For instance in my company, employees are constantly having to go through trainings and lectures for various reasons; so that the company can prove in emergencies and to the government, legal process are being implemented and followed within the company. One area that is a good example of this is Internet and email usage by employees. Because of the threat of computer viruses, also the fact that being a hotel with a large number of employees, there is a great deal of information that is held on the companies servers and computers.
