The purpose of this essay is to reflect on the three day trip to Taramacouta camp and to identify a personal capability I have discovered in myself during the SOS course , to describe my vision of the meaning of success , at the college level. What are my biggest strength and weakness? Since the Science of Survival class is intended to help students develop a sense of self-reliance and self-efficacy my 3-day SOS survival trip gave me much more experience about myself. That knowledge can help me to discuss how I can transfer the use of my personal strength from an outdoor activity into a strength that can also help me in college life and help my grades. Also to learn from my weakness in an outdoor atmosphere and how to prevent it from interfering with my academic studies. I believe that the 1-day prep, that took place Saturday 8th of February, gave me the boost of experience need in order to find my personal strength and weakness, for example, the building of the quinzhee as a group coordination between me, the rest of the class and the teachers was needed.

First of all, my biggest and most useful strength that use most of the time is enthusiasm. An enthusiasm person is someone who is willing and passionate of whatever they are doing, for example, someone who does everything handed to them properly and just even if it is something that doesn’t interest them at all. I would say that I am someone who is very enthusiastic because I like to do whatever I am doing very neatly, clean and proper exactly what I was asked or what I wanted even if it is something out of my interest, for example, introducing and describing myself to my colleagues. I believe that my strong enthusiasm played a role in the effort and attitude that I had put on show during the trip because I felt satisfied of my work at the Taramacouta Scout Reserve.
