Is your job at risk? Outsourcing has become a heated debate in the middle of a Presidential election coming up in November. The Chief Executive Officer’s are trying to find ways to cut down on cost to “stay alive” in a competitive industry, this usually turns heads for the traditional Republican. Then on the other hand there is the frustrated worker with their worst nightmare coming true, this is usually the traditional blue collar Democrat. All the American people can do is hope that the next President will reveal the truth of offshoring outsourcing. The United States should limit outsourcing jobs to foreign countries because of the negative effects on the U.S. economy, number of American jobs lost, and poor quality products without proper regulations. The greed of many business executives has demoralized the American workers. Lets examine the controversy in the economics of outsourcing jobs. The controversy can be separated into two elements-American workers versus the American corporations. It’s all about the mighty dollar, higher ups (CEO’s) main concern is putting money back into their own pockets and outsourcing jobs to cheaper labor countries is the route they choose. According to Tom Weakland of the management consultancy firm Diamond Cluster (Kharif), a Russian programmer costs 80% less than an American.
