OVERCOMING ODDS WITH LOVE!
The five events that shaped my life are struggle, pain, heartbreak, change, and VICTORY. Though things were hard, it was prayer that kept me standing. Growing up, I wasn’t as fortunate as everyone else; I went through being talked about. I went through feeling rejected, and every one that has been through that knows it is a hard pill to swallow. I suffered with broken and abandonment issues. I went through being in and out of relationships where I was being abused mentally and emotionally. All because I was seeking this wonderful thing everyone knew as love.
However, all that changed when I decided to change. When I decided I was tired, that’s when I got the strength to overcome. I went through losing the most important person in my life (grandma) and hitting rock bottom. I remember thinking I would never recover, but I kept hope alive. I went through being hurt by people in church, but that helped me see that God was the only person I could trust. There’s a blessing in EVERY lesson. If I had not gone through these things, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today. I wouldn’t be as determined to reach greatness, and I definitely wouldn’t be where I’m at with God. These experiences help shape who I am, that’s why I’m now living a purpose driven life.
Since I’ve experienced my freedom in these areas, I want to discuss the societal stand point of all this. The effects of lacking love and family support; and also the roles they play in people’s lives. Believe it or not these two issues can be a person’s main Motivation or Down fall. When a person feels inadequate they become inferior to their environment. They begin to act out in some way shape or form wanting and hoping for just a little love and/or attention.
Many times when people feel they’re not getting that love, quality time, and attention from the people that’s close to them, they feel the need to find it elsewhere. In most cases this only leads to destruction. Those who...
