The Unbelievable Olympics in Unbelievable China

“It was insane! Oh, it was totally insane!” Almost every foreign friend of mine shouted after watching the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. However, they didn’t know at that time it was just a beginning. The following twenty days would be the perpetual fantasy in their life. Barely sixty years had passed by since PRC was founded; Chinese people finally got an opportunity to demonstrate their culture, development and hospitality to the whole world. And they did it. They deserved the unrivalled highest score for all their contribution during the Games. No doubtfully nine would be my evaluation.
It might be too vague to give such full marks virtually according to my own feeling. Therefore, I would like to claim a few undeniable facts to make my evaluation more convincing.
First of all, all the venues of the Games were radically constructed for not only the better performance of the athletes but also the pleasant experience of the audience. Take National Stadium, the so-called Bird Nest, and National Aquatics Centre, the so-called Water Cube for example, based on reliable statistics hundreds of sophisticated high-techs were applied in the design of the venues, that’s why so many records had been broken in them. Due to the excellent performances given by the athletes and the spirit they had shown in the competition, all the audience were inspired and purified by what they saw, thus Olympic spirit was kept passing on. In the face of such marvelous venues, the Games’ honor was enhanced definitely. What’s more, BOCOG built most of the venues especially for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, that was to say, more than half the venues were brand-new and so was the Olympic Village. Every athlete of the Games addressed that it was the best Olympic Village they had ever lived in.
