I have decided to take this course because I am very interested in learning about famous speeches that were spoken by some incredible people during this lifetime. I firmly believe that having the opportunity to take this course will not only help me identify great speeches given by awesome speakers but it will help me relate some of my personal experiences to those specific speeches in which we read in class. In other words, I am saying that there may be speeches that I find that are interesting and that could possibly connect to my own life. I want to be able to find speeches that connect to my life because I will feel more comfortable in this class and I would be able to understand what the speaker was feeling in the speech when he or she spoke the speech.
Another reason why I am taking this course is because I truly want to learn about what people had to say about the world during that specific time in which they wrote/spoke the speech. Learning about what people had to say in the past could have an impact on the world during this present time. I want to be able to know how people felt and what the situation was that they spoke of in their speeches. Hearing what people had to say back then would help me gain more knowledge of some history, which can be very exciting.
Lastly, I would like to take this course is because when I first saw the course listed, it immediately caught my attention. I expect to gain as much knowledge as possible in this course. When I signed up for this course, I immediately thought that I was stepping outside of my boundaries because I am trying new things. I want to know as much as possible and work hard at gaining all the knowledge in this class. I am so excited to be in this course and cannot wait to see what is to come.
