LMS / LCMS DEFINED
LMS (learning management system): Software that automates training administration by registering users, tracking catalog courses, recording learner data, and generating management reports. Typically designed to handle courses from multiple publishers and providers, an LMS usually does NOT include its own authoring capabilities.


LCMS (learning content management system): A software application that manages the creation, storage, use, and reuse of learning content. LCMSs store content in the form of learning objects (reuseable independent topic modules).


PROPOSED WISH LIST
Mission: to identify a powerful, efficient, and cost-effective training management system that meets the needs of ’s Sales Training Department. This should be a scalable application that could support worldwide if deemed necessary in the future.

Strategy: Ideally, the Sales Training Department would like to partner with a small vendor to help them further develop their product. could provide the vendor with product feedback, design enhancement suggestions, and training materials in exchange for reduced product, service, and/or licensing rates. Our goal is to build an alliance with the vendor a la our relationships with NehaNet, AllPoints, etc.
