Through out my entire childhood I have always had a fascination with numbers. I would constantly calculate and formulate abstract things and find patterns in irrelevant situations, for seemingly pointless reasons. I also had another equally obsessive passion for drawing. At early ages in my life, you could normally find me spending hours upon hours on the same sketch. I knew early on in life that I wanted a career that would be able to somehow grasp both of these passions and use it toward doing something that I could both enjoy and could give a positive impact on my community.
For many years now, since around the beginning of high school, I have taken an interest in architecture and engineering. These last few years my standards on my grades have been kept high, making sure that they never slip, which in turn would cause me to lose sight of fulfilling my goal. Due to my discipline and integrity, I have been able to rank high in my graduating class.
Now that I know all my hard work is almost finally paid off, my future educational plans have nearly been set in stone. I plan to find a school soon that specializes in my desires and is also close to home. It has always been a personal dream of mine to one day design something so beautiful and ground breaking that it will cause people to travel to see it in person.
This is an essay I wrote for a scholarship I was applying for a while back.
