Personal Statement
Business was first introduced to me when I first started my GCSE’s and since then I have thoroughly enjoyed the subject so at every opportunity I have chosen to study the subject, marketing has been my most successful and enjoyable section of the business courses which I have undertaken. I believe enjoying a subject means you are inclined to learn more as your mind is more open to new things, this has without a doubt been the case for me because I have at every possible moment used business outside of school and college. For example running my own Citroen Saxo parts dealership whilst studying at college, although I did not perform this on a mass scale I still managed to make profit and gain many unique skills which many others without practical experience may not have. Also a key part of my personality is determination because I will not give up, because of this I have chosen to study a business degree at university to make sure I have something else to make me stand out from others and to forward me in the advancement of my business career.
During my educational years I have chosen to study business the majority of the time it has been available. Access to higher education Business and ICT has furthered my burning desire to make an impact within Business and to place my own techniques and judgements to succeed. The marketing subject within Access has particularly appealed to me because of the practical sides of the module’s for example creating a product and deciding what promotional tactics to use for the product and what specific target market it may require. Due to enjoying and performing well within this subject more than finance or computing which equally are thoroughly enjoyable, marketing has given me a direction and motivation for a future career within this field.
