 Should cell phone use be allowed in high schools during class? In some high schools, cell phone use is allowed wherever you go. In some schools, students are only allowed to use cell phones at lunch and before or after school. In others, students can’t use your cell phone at all.
Cell phones are a good way for parents to make sure their children are safe and to know their whereabouts. Some schools have considered allowing cell phone use, but most do not permit it. Different schools debate on this concept. High schools have to look at the pros and cons of each situation. They have to weigh the cost and benefit. Do students really need access to their phones 24/7?
There has been debates and some think it will become a big problem in the future. Cell phones have come a long way and they will continue to expand on the newest thing. Cell phone ads are made towards teenagers because they have to have the best one. Most students do not see a problem with cell phone use at school. Should students be allowed to have their cell phones during class?
First, lets discuss the cons of having no cell phone use would be that, if there is an emergency in the student’s personal life, the student would not find out about it until someone else told them. If there is a real emergency though, students can go to the office and make a phone call or the parents can call the office to talk to the student. Another con would be that some people might have a planner on their phone and you would not be able to use it until after school. Even though they give you planners at the beginning of the year some people might find this easier or more efficient.
Secondly, the cons of minimal cell phone use would be, what would they do with their cell phones during class? They could leave them on their desk so teachers can make sure that they don’t use them during class, but if students do that, it could be more of a distraction because it is right in front of them.
