Peru

At first glance I thought Peru would be a great country to research because of all of the great things I heard about it and thought it would be a wonderful experience to actually visit the country. Most of all I want to see the beautiful beaches. From the abundance of plant and animal life in the Amazon jungle to climbing the El Misti Volcano all these attributes sound very adventurous. It was so far away from the typical things that I seen for seventeen years in Los Angeles, California. I wanted take the time out to learn about how different countries live and what takes place on a daily basis and be able to make a comparison to the life that I live. Although hiking the Inca trail or surfing in the best beaches in the country sounds very intriguing, that’s just merely the outside looking in. Many people as well as my self get caught up in events as such because of what they seen or heard about the country. When I first choose the country I got overwhelmed with all of the attractions rather than focusing on the daily life, traditions and culture of a Peruvian. The prior knowledge I had about Peru was not efficient to write an efficient research paper I knew I would have a lot of work ahead of me. I found myself thinking as a tourist rather than going in depth. Because of this I had to brainstorm on what I wanted to know about The Land of the Incas. I didn’t know any authors from Peru but I wanted to read novels from a very popular author so that I would be able to get an idea of what is most commonly read. After researching the various authors I narrowed my search down to the two most popular authors according to Google and both had a vast number of materials to choose from. Ricardo Palma my first choice; he had an amazing background that was very interesting. He was very unique and I think just reading about some points of his life could tell me about how Peru was in pervious decades and he would be able to explain The Pacific War between Peru and Chile which...
