ESPN analysis Bob Carter described Rose’s style as, “He played the game with a childish joy.” His signature style was stealing bases and sliding head first right into the bag. This revolutionized the way many players stole bases. Rose’s pure determinations and hustle should make him a Hall of Fame ball player. Pete Rose’s hustle and determination lead him to many achievements and statistics that an ordinary baseball player doesn’t achieve. Rose shattered the record book with his offensive skill. Baseball write Paul Nicolo said of Pete and his Hall of Fame chances, “His stats speak for themselves.” Pete Rose’s 4,256 career hits is a hundred more hits than Hall of Famer Ty Cobb, who is second behind Rose. Also is five hundred more than Hank Aaron, who is said to be the best player ever to play the game of baseball. The hit record alone should give him the nod into the Hall of Fame. He is also the only player ever to play five hundred games in a 5 different positions. This skill shows the versatility of Rose’s game and many different abilities he had. His other achievements include a NL Most Valuable Player award and a seventeen time all star. As Nicolo stated, “His stats speak for themselves.” Pete Roses’ gambling addiction is the only reason he is not in the Hall of Fame.
